The Motorcycle Centre - Blindley Heath

The Motorcycle Centre, on the A22 at Blindley Heath, has a well earned reputation for supplying quality used bikes. We passed a couple of pleasant hours there chewing the fat and finding out more about the business and what makes it successful.

While there, we thought it rude not to try out a couple of bikes...

You may well have travelled the A22 towards East Grinstead and noticed a few bikes on your left as you waited at the lights by the Lingfield turn.

If you had stopped and gone in for a nose around you would have been surprised at the amount of machinery on offer at this Tardis-like site.

With three bike showrooms and a fully equipped workshop at the rear, The Motorcycle Centre has a selection of machinery that would put many of the flashier outlets to shame. Tim, the owner and Owen, the sales manager are bikers through and through, together with the team of three experienced mechanics. With over 25 years in bike retail, the team know what they are talking about and take the time and trouble to supply the right bike for you at the right price.

Their well earned reputation means at least fifty percent of their customers return for their next bike purchase. It’s all about keeping it simple and attention to detail. They won’t try and sell you loads of kit, insurance and bolt-on goodies you don’t want. What you will get is a properly prepared, quality used machine with a full basic maintenance briefing on collection. Simple, old fashioned service.

As Tim explained, “We only sell good quality bikes, it’s not worth our while having our customers coming back complaining about this and that not being right. We want them back to buy their next bike”. This philosophy has spread The Motorcycle Centre’s reputation beyond our shores and they are happy to deliver bikes anywhere. On-going servicing of your bike is no problem, all the staff have a mechanical background.

Full dealer facilities are available, including arranging finance. Bikes range from £1500, with most falling between £2-5k. There is always a large stock of around 150 machines, with a brisk turnover of up to 60 bikes a month.

So if you are in the market for a “new” bike, you can’t go far wrong with these guys. The Motorcycle Centre
