Product Review TCX T-Lilly Gore-Tex Boots

South East Biker Magazine Cover Image

These boots look no different to many others on the shelf, they are not as flashy as some on sale. TCX Lilly’s plain looks are deceiving, put your foot inside and they feel like a race boot with support at the ankle, but not as narrow as the race boot range. I broke my ankles in my younger days and I am left with one ankle larger than the other. This has caused problems in the past with getting boots to give me support during racing and track days. As you put your foot in, you can feel the support points on the ankle, these are the thermoplastic inserts which help the ankle bone, toes and the heel.

A particular feature of these boots is that they have antibacterial removable insoles, which are excellent, for as everyone knows, spending a warm day in your boots can leave them with a little bit of a whiff! The insole helps to absorb vibration and provide support for your instep, this helps when walking around all day.

Some boots are just too flat and can cause backache. The TCX Lilly boots are only available in black which to me is the only thing I can say that lets them down.

I know black goes with everything and is suitable for a wide range of tastes, but I like a little bit of colour. The great features of the Lilly boots are; they are waterproof, nicely padded inside and they have a wedge inside the heel so add to your height. The TCX Lilly is a good looking boot and extremely comfortable to walk around all day in. Usually I take other shoes to change into but with these I don’t have to. Overall, the TCX Lilly are an excellent pair of ladies boots they are an all rounder for winter as well as summer and certainly justify the price tag.

Currently they are reduced at the moment in some shops. The RRP is around £170 but some shops have them reduced to £152.00, a really good bargain. Available from www.thebikerstore.co.uk and Girlsbike2
