Get On is a new campaign designed to promote motorcycling. Free rider taster sessions are on offer to those who are curious about trying out biking. Celebrities are being signed up to help front the campaign. Cricketer Darren Gough has completed his CBT and is now on his way to a full bike licence. “I guess I’m like a lot of people in that I’ve been interested in motorbikes for a long time but never really been sure how to go about getting into riding. I heard about Get On which makes everything simple for you.
Anyone over the age of 16 can get a free taster session of riding a bike or scooter by simply going to www.geton.co.uk and then, if like me you love it, the site tells you everything you need to know about how to take your test, what training you need and what bikes and equipment will suit you. Kawasaki have announced two new machines for the competitive 125cc market. The KLX125 features a fuel injected, electric start, air cooled motor mounted in a lightweight, compact chassis. The Super Moto styled D-Tracker 125 with upside down forks, digital instruments and super sticky tyres, should appeal to the next generation of riders.

They believe that 400 and 500cc stylish bikes are the way to encourage 20-25 year olds into biking. The 2010 World Superbike Schedule has been announced and, once again, Brands Hatch fails to host a round. Bad news for motorcycle racing fans not only in the south east, but across the country. Next season is set to be a fascinating one in the series, particularly with such a large Brit presence and the return of James Toseland. It seems strange that the organisers are apparently asking too much money, yet Donington will be able to afford it despite attracting much smaller crowds. Both sides are accusing each other of greed, yet the losers are the race fans, particularly youngsters and families for whom a trip to Donington is not feasible or affordable. The BSB round in its place this year did not have nearly as much of the excitement and atmosphere of WSB, despite all the hype.
