Product Review - Shark Helmet

I recently purchased a new Shark helmet. Now I think helmets are like handbags, a woman can never have too many! You need one for each outfit or, at least, each jacket. I already have two I use but was after a better fitting one. I wanted a Shoei, as I have a bad neck and cannot have anything heavier than 1500g. The Shoei I wanted has just increased in price due to the exchange rate and put it way over my budget.

The Shark I settled on is the RSI Lavilla Replica. It is a snug fit now it’s bedded in but really comfy. Even without earplugs it’s very quiet, certainly the best model I have worn. The ventilation system works really well, keeping the visor clear even on a really cold and rainy day.

The visor is easily removed, just press a button and off it pops. All the pads are removable and washable.

The helmet has a sporty look with three union flags on each side. Everyone has commented on the helmet design, it certainly stands out.

Shark offer an extensive range of lids with a wide choice if you cannot afford a Shoei or similar. Prices range from £80 for an S500 Air to £400 RSR2 Carbon.

The RSI Lavilla Replica is a limited stock item, priced at £130 and available in various designs from The Bikerstore, Tunbridge Wells Suzuki and GirlsBike2.
