Draggin Jeans Product Review

The men’s pair I tried was the Next Gen jean. These jeans have no panels, so don’t have the traditional Draggin Jeans look. They are lined with Kevlar and Dyneema, the world’s strongest fibre, apparently. They also feature a sports lining so are extremely comfortable and neatly tuck into a pair of boots. The jeans have a bit of ‘give’ in them, so although quite tight fitting, sitting on a bike for some time is no problem. The lining keeps you warm while riding and the breathable nature of the whole product means they are cool as you sit on the seafront licking your ice-cream! There are cheaper products on the market, but if you are going down the route of re-inforced casual gear, possibly saving a few quid could be a false economy. I suggest you turn the jeans inside out to see how much Kevlar is actually used and how well it is attached. Draggin Jeans have a well earned reputation for quality in this field and I have come across much inferior products not much cheaper.

The Draggin Jeans I bought were the Classic Ladies Stretch in indigo.

Anyone looking for comfort, both on and off the bike, these are the jeans for you. Motorcycle trousers are generally great on the bike but uncomfortable to wear when walking around. The Classics are high rise which, if you are short in the body, could be a little high. I am 5’4’’ and find them fine. When leaning over the tank, you don’t get that annoying draft on your back or worse, builder’s bum!

They have the look of boot cut jeans with protection on the knees, hips and bottom and I felt confident and relaxed on my bike. They are fashionable (which is important), comfortable and reasonably priced. You don’t need to wait for a hot day to wear them, put a pair of thermals underneath and they’re toastie too.

A friend of mine came off at slow speed while wearing normal jeans, taking flesh off her kneecap to the cartilage. She now owns a pair of Draggin Jeans after some horrible treatment on her injuries. It’s not worth all the pain and suffering when £99 will protect you as well as look good.

If there is only one thing you buy this year, then make it a pair of DJ’s. I don’t know how I’ve managed without them.

I now want to try the new Minx jeans, they look quite fashionable and girlie!
